g6TiSCH: Generalized 6TiSCH for Agile Multi-PHY Wireless Networking

چکیده
Wireless networks traditionally use a single physical layer for communication: some high bit-rate short-range radios, others low long-range radios. This article introduces g6TiSCH, generalization of the standards-based IETF 6TiSCH protocol stack. g6TiSCH allows nodes equipped with multiple radios to dynamically switch between them on link-by-link basis, as function link-quality. approach results in dynamic trade-off latency and power consumption. We evaluate performance experimentally an indoor office testbed 36 OpenMote B boards. Each can communicate using FSK 868 MHz, O-QPSK 2.4 GHz or OFDM combination layers. measure network formation time, end-to-end reliability, latency, battery lifetime. compare against that traditional stack running each three Results show yields lower time than any individual PHYs, while maintaining similar

Cooperative Wireless Networking Beyond Store-and-Forward - Perspectives in PHY and MAC design
In future wireless networks devices may cooperate to form logical links. Each of these links may consist of several independent physical channels which are shared by the cooperating partners. Even without multiple antennas this cooperation provides diversity in time and space. This so-called cooperation diversity increases the robustness of the link vs. fading and interference. After surveying ...
متن کاملMulti-channel Support for Dense Wireless Sensor Networking
Currently, most wireless sensor network applications assume the presence of single-channel Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols. When sensor nodes are densely deployed, single-channel MAC protocols may be inadequate due to the higher demand for the limited bandwidth. To overcome this drawback, we propose multiple channel support for improving the performance. Our method allows the nodes to uti...
